San Diego

We went to San Diego last week to visit my parent's.  The weather was unseasonable warm (almost 80 degrees) so we spent lots of time at the beach.  We could hardly drag the boys away from it.
Sawyer is potty training and here he is showing off his new underoos.  He calls them "treasure undies" but they are really Transformer underwear.  I hate to make absolute statements about this kind of thing, that is why I am saying training and not trained, however we have had days and days of no accidents.  Keep your fingers crossed.  I am thrilled because that is the one thing I wanted done before #3 arrives.

Some many times Caleb (& Sawyer) have done or said something that makes my heart melt. Most of the time it is just ordinary everyday things.  And so often I have said I need to write these things down so that I 'll remember them.  So today I am remembering that Caleb is 4 1/4 and you are wearing your winter boots, underwear and army helmet.  Last night you said that you want to name the new baby Sarah and that you do not want another brother, that we have to build a nest of blankets and pillows for you to sleep in every night, that keeping clothes or pj's on you is a federal affair,  you love to find "baby balls" or shiny things in the desert, you crawl on all fours like a puppy dog,  you love your "race car shoes", you love jam sandwiches (no peanut butter please) and green beans and blueberries, I can get you to do most anything with the promise of chocolate, when I was sick you made me "medicine water" and spoon fed it to me, you told me that I have "good boobs", you love to play hide-n-seek at the park, you love the ocean, you are always the first to spot the moon, when I ask to pinch your bum you always oblige me and stick your bum my way,  this morning you said "this little boy is starvin', please get me bread", yesterday you asked to see your "daddy grandpa" (Branden's dad) like 20 times, when the sun is going down you say you like the dark, you love to read Peter Rabbit, you love to wrestle with your dad, you can't have hot chocolate it has to be warm, we give each other "lick kisses", you call umbrellas "gorillas" and squirrels "girls", every time you see a mountain or snow you say that is Alaska.......to be continued.

Branden and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary on
Jan 13th.  Or as Bran would say 2, 896 loooong days
(I hope he means this lovingly).  We went out to our
new favorite restaurant, Orgin India.  I thought the
Bhajira (vegetable fritters) were pretty...oh, and they
were really tasty too.  I love you B.
Ryan & Brittany (Branden's brother) welcomed a baby boy into the world.  Ezra Joseph Petersen arrived on Christmas day after a rough and tumble delivery,  and he is cute as a button.  Branden's sis, Amie is holding him in the above picture.
My sister Layne also had baby boy, however I don't have a picture to post.  They named him
Jedi Roman Anderson.  Her and Brock now have 3 boys.  Layne said that Lex & Atticus just adore the little guy and are really helpful.
We are so happy to have these little blessings in our family.  Yeah for babies.

Christmas came and went really fast this year.  The
boys are at such a fun age especially when it comes
to opening presents.  It snowed in Las Vegas and
stayed around for a few days (which never happens).
It was really beautiful and made me miss AK.
Branden got me an ornament for Christmas and
for some reason it made me cry (darn hormones!)
It was my favorite gift.  Merry Christmas & a Happy
2009!
This is Sawyer with his great grandparents-Jack and Joye Walker.  Caleb was not cooperating for a picture.  We stayed with them for a night on our way down from Boise.
